Refund Policy

Understanding your refund rights and our process.

1. Eligibility for Refunds

Refunds are issued under the following circumstances:

  • A booking was cancelled by Sethu EV Car Rental due to vehicle unavailability
  • A qualifying cancellation was made by the customer within the eligible window (see Cancellation Policy)
  • An overcharge or duplicate charge was made in error
  • The vehicle provided was not in a roadworthy or agreed condition and no suitable replacement was offered

2. Non-Refundable Situations

No refunds will be issued in the following cases:

  • Late cancellations outside the eligible window
  • No-show bookings where the customer did not collect the vehicle
  • Early vehicle return after the rental has commenced
  • Service fees and booking administration charges

3. Refund Amounts

Cancellation 7+ days before rental: Full refund (minus processing fee of R150)

Cancellation 3–6 days before rental: 50% refund of rental amount

Cancellation within 48 hours: No refund applicable

Vehicle unavailability by Sethu: 100% full refund

4. Refund Processing Time

Approved refunds will be processed within the following timeframes:

  • Credit/debit card payments: 5–10 business days
  • EFT/bank transfers: 3–7 business days
  • Vouchers or credits applied to your account: within 2 business days

Processing times may vary depending on your bank or payment provider.

5. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, please contact us with your booking reference number:

Please include your full name, booking reference, payment details, and the reason for the refund request.

6. Disputes

If you believe your refund request has been unfairly declined, you may escalate the matter in writing to info@sethu.co.za. We will review and respond within 5 business days.
