Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before renting a vehicle.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By booking or renting a vehicle from Sethu EV Car Rental ('we', 'us', 'our'), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not proceed with your booking.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 21 years of age to rent a vehicle
  • You must hold a valid South African driver's licence (or international licence if applicable)
  • You must present a valid form of identification (ID book, smart card, or passport)
  • You must have a valid payment method to cover the rental and deposit

3. Booking and Payment

All bookings are subject to vehicle availability. Full or partial payment may be required at the time of booking. We reserve the right to cancel unconfirmed bookings if payment is not received.

4. Vehicle Use

Rental vehicles may only be used within South Africa unless express written permission is obtained. Prohibited uses include:

  • Driving under the influence of alcohol or substances
  • Subletting or lending the vehicle to an unauthorised driver
  • Off-road driving (unless the vehicle is rated for such use)
  • Participating in motor sport or racing activities
  • Transporting goods for commercial hire

5. EV-Specific Responsibilities

As an electric vehicle rental, the following applies:

  • You are responsible for returning the vehicle with a reasonable charge level (minimum 20%)
  • Charging costs during the rental period are the renter's responsibility unless otherwise stated
  • Damaging the charging port or cable will result in repair charges

6. Liability

Sethu EV Car Rental is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our vehicles. You accept full responsibility for any traffic fines, tolls, or penalties incurred during your rental period.

7. Dispute Resolution

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be resolved in accordance with South African law.
